My style is documentary so I am very hands off. I capture the moments as they happen naturally with little to no intervention. I want couples day to be about them with all of their closest friends and family, not about making their day into a movie set.
I love to use the speeches, toasts, laughter, and crowd audio from weddings to elevate films and make them feel more alive and not just a slideshow with music. I primarily shoot handheld to have a more organic feel but include tripods for still shots to let a moment tell the story and gimbals for smooth cinematic shots of the venue and high energy moments.
It’s always an honor to capture one of the biggest days of couples lives. I will retell your wedding day in a modern and cinematic way that will last for generations.
WHAT I’M ABOUT…
To start off: I’m Jake, and I’m based out of Upstate New York.
I bought my first camera in 2024 to create a visual side of my music. I shot an engagement video for fun and immediately fell in love with videography. My first full wedding was in Cancun, Mexico and that’s where Jake Provo Films became official.
Since then, I’ve been shooting weddings all over Western New York and a few out of state. I quickly realized I wanted the films I create to emphasize the celebration of love, and for couples and future generations to look back on the best day of their lives.

Weddings are so expensive, & it can be overwhelming to try & decide what you need and what you don't. I went back & forth for months trying to decide if we really needed a video - trying to decide if having a video was just a social media trap...but from a former "videographer-skeptic" - DO NOT SKIP IT - I can almost guarantee that the second the wedding is over, you will regret not having a videographer. I can promise with equal certainty that the next morning when the dust has settled, you will be SO thrilled and SO relieved knowing you have footage coming.
Specifically, book Jake, he is wonderful! He took such care in editing our videos, selecting personal and perfect moments & audio overlays. He understood what would be meaningful to us as a couple talking through what we wanted prior to the big day. It's the small moments in between photographs that we love the most. He put the day back in motion. It's the length of a hug, a flash of a side smirk between siblings, the inhale/exhale before walking down the aisle, or an extra "be brave" hand squeeze that you can't see in a photo, but can in video footage - these are the moments that are incredible to have and cannot be captured by even the best photographer, alone.
Jake is professional, reliable, and thorough. Equally important he joined right in on having fun with us, is very kind, & clearly cared about us as a couple. We loved having him be part of our day, and booking with him was truly one of the best wedding planning decisions we made in the entire process.”
